2026.05.27A journey through KANSAI through paper cutting art
We are exhibiting the original artwork from "KANSAI 2025: A Journey Through Paper Cutting," which was serialized in the Sankei Shimbun last year.
Many of the works on display are being shown for the first time, so I hope many people will come and see them.
A large 2-meter-tall artwork titled "Iris" is also on display. (On display until July 26th (Sun))
We look forward to your visit.
Exhibition period: Scheduled from May 27, 2026 (Wed) to November 3, 2026 (Tue) [Some exhibits will be changed from July 29 (Wed)]
The art exhibits on the second floor are changed about four times a year.
In addition to the permanent exhibition of the 72 Seasons, there are about 30 other pieces on display. The pieces have texture, three-dimensionality, and perspective, and express light and shadow through the thickness of the lines. The works, cut out with an art knife, are all connected, which is a major feature. You can see Kubo Osamu's unique, painterly papercuts up close.
The rainy season begins at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine.
